We have all seen these oreo stuffed cookies floating around the interweb hemisphere, so it seemed like the right thing to try them out to see if they were worth the hype. I mean, so what if I'm on a diet? This is commitment to my blog! That is the only reason I made them, not because I was craving sugar... definitely not because I was craving sugar...
BUT if I was having a low sugar moment, boy did these bad boys fix that problem. These gorgeous bites of crumbly chocolate goodness are so easy to make and are perfect for any occasion - hell, who even needs an occasion! Just take around 20 minutes out of your day to experience heaven in your humble abode...have I sold them to yet?
Keep reading to see how easy it is to bake these beauties!
What you will need:
1 box of cookie mix (makes 16)
1 packet of oreos
An egg
4 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp water
Preheat the oven to gas mark 5.
Follow the instructions on the cookie mix and stir until you have a 'squidgy' mixture. Make sure you don't add extra water or oil because these cookies will be messy to make if the mixture is runny.
Place your oreo cookies on a plate for easy access. You don't need to do this step but the OCD in me wouldn't have it any other way.
If you have broken a sweat at this stage after ALL that hard work then reward your efforts thus far by munching on 2 oreo's (you don't need to use them all).
Get a little ball of the cookie mixture and flatten it out on your hand. It should be about this size - very professional, right?
Place the oreo in the middle of the flattened cookie mixture.
Fold the oreo in the cookie mixture. This is the way that I found works best for me; feel free to experiment!
I was able to make 10 cookies using this technique.
Place them on a baking tray; there is no need to grease the baking tray. Why you ask? Because Betty Crocker said so...
Place them in the oven for 10-20 minutes depending on how gooey you like your cookies. I left mine in for 20 minutes which left them crispy on the top and soft in the middle - and the melted oreos were just heavenly.
While you are waiting, wash up that 1 tbsp, bowl and spatula you used and then eat the leftover oreos - it's a hard life, isn't it?
Leave the cookies to cool for a maximum of 5 minutes. These are best served warm while the oreos are still at their liquefied form (mmmmmmm).
Have you tried these?
Do you have any quick sugar fixes?
